Pebble, a kind of natural stone, is mainly from the pebble mountain which is raised from ancient riverbed because of the earth's crust movement millions of years ago. The formation of pebble undergoes continuous extrusion and friction of flood and running water. Pebble is usually smooth under action of wave and flowing water and buried under the earth surface with sand.
The river pebbles resource in China is abundant, the main chemical composition of gravel is silicon dioxide, secondly it is composed by small amount of iron oxide and trace elements such as manganese, copper, aluminum, magnesium and compound, it has natural stone features of hard quality, compression, wear-resistance and anticorrosion, it is an ideal material for building application. Currently gravel sand making production lines are continually built all over the country, which guarantee the supply of quality aggregate for national construction projects.
The pebble crushing process usually includes the following main steps:
1.Feeding
Use a vibrating feeder to feed the pebbles evenly into the crusher. This can control the feeding speed, avoid problems such as blockage and overload of the crusher due to too fast or uneven feeding, and ensure the stability and continuity of the crushing process.
2.Coarse crushing
The jaw crusher is commonly used for preliminary crushing of pebbles. It crushes larger pieces of pebbles into smaller particles through the extrusion between the movable jaw and the fixed jaw. It can handle larger materials with a large crushing ratio, which can greatly reduce the particle size of pebbles, laying the foundation for subsequent crushing processes.
3.Medium and fine crushing
After coarse crushing, the pebbles enter the cone crusher or impact crusher for medium and fine crushing. The cone crusher squeezes the material through the mortar wall to the crushing wall to make the finished product more uniform in particle size. The impact crusher uses the impact of the plate hammer to crush the material in the crushing chamber by multiple impacts. It has the advantages of large crushing ratio, uniform product particle size, less over-crushing, etc., which can further refine the pebbles to meet the required particle size requirements.
4.Screening
The crushed pebbles are screened by a vibrating screen. The vibrating screen screens the materials into different particle size grades according to different aperture sizes. The materials that meet the finished product particle size requirements are screened out as finished products, and the materials that do not meet the requirements are sent back to the crusher for further crushing, forming a closed-loop cycle to ensure the consistency of the product particle size.
River pebbles have become high-quality sand making raw materials due to their high hardness and wear resistance. A mature river pebble sand making plant's basic process usually covers multiple links such as feeding, crushing, sand making, screening, and sand washing. The specific process is as follows:
1.Feeding
The vibrating feeder is used to evenly feed the cobblestones into the crusher. This can control the feeding speed, avoiding problems such as blockage and overload of the crusher caused by too fast or uneven feeding, and ensuring the stability and continuity of the crushing process.
2.Primary Crushing
Jaw crushers are commonly used for the primary crushing of cobblestones. Through the squeezing action between the moving jaw and the fixed jaw, it crushes the larger cobblestones into smaller particles. It can handle materials of relatively large sizes, has a high crushing ratio, and can significantly reduce the particle size of cobblestones, laying the foundation for subsequent crushing processes.
3.Medium and Fine Crushing
The cobblestones that have undergone primary crushing enter a cone crusher or an impact crusher for medium and fine crushing. The cone crusher squeezes the materials by the movement of the mantle towards the concave, making the particle size of the finished product more uniform. The impact crusher, on the other hand, utilizes the impact force of the blow bars to make the materials repeatedly impacted and crushed within the crushing chamber. It has the advantages of a high crushing ratio, uniform product particle size, and less over-crushing phenomenon, which can further refine the cobblestones to meet the required particle size requirements.
4.Screening
The crushed cobblestones are screened by a vibrating screen. According to different aperture sizes, the vibrating screen screens the materials into different particle size grades. The materials that meet the finished product particle size requirements are screened out as finished products, while the materials that do not meet the requirements are sent back to the crusher for further crushing, forming a closed-circuit cycle to ensure the consistency of the product particle size.
5.Sand Making
The sand making machine throws the materials out through a high-speed rotating impeller, making them collide and rub against the crushing wall or the impact plate, etc., so as to make the materials into finer sand grains to meet the specific needs such as construction sand.
6.Sand Washing
For some application scenarios with high requirements for the purity of sand materials, such as high-end construction and glass manufacturing, the made sand needs to be washed. The sand washing machine removes impurities such as soil and stone powder in the sand materials through a water washing method, improving the quality and purity of the sand materials.
7.Re-processing
According to the customer's requirements for the specifications and shapes of the finished products, other equipment can be used for further processing of the materials. For example, a shaping machine can be used to shape the particles, making the particle shapes more regular and round, and improving the appearance quality and performance of the products.
Note: For the sand powder with strict requirements, a sand washing machine can be added behind the fine sand. The waste water discharged from the sand washing machine can be recovered by the fine sand recycling device. On the one hand, it can reduce environmental pollution, and on the other hand, it can increase sand production.
