The grade of tailings ore refers to the mass fraction of tailings element in tailings ore, say, the tailings content. The first stage: Crushing and Grinding
Purpose: Dissociate the useful minerals and gangue minerals in the tailings as much as possible, and make the useful minerals reach the appropriate particle size to prepare for the subsequent separation operations.
Process: Generally, jaw crushers and other coarse - crushing equipment are first used to initially crush the tailings to reduce their particle size to a certain extent. Then, cone crushers, impact crushers and other medium - and fine - crushing equipment are used for further crushing. Grinding is usually carried out by ball mills, rod mills and other equipment to grind the crushed tailings to the particle size required for separation.
The second stage: Tailings Reuse
Purpose: Maximize the utilization of resources and reduce the environmental impact of tailings storage.
Building materials: Tailings can be used to produce building bricks, cement, concrete aggregates, etc. For example, after the tailings are crushed, screened and other treatments, they are used as fine aggregates or coarse aggregates in concrete, which can replace part of the natural sand and gravel, reduce the construction cost, and at the same time reduce the exploitation of natural resources.
Road engineering: The properly treated tailings can be used for the laying of road bases and sub - bases. The tailings are mixed with binders such as cement and lime and compacted to form a stable road structure layer, which improves the bearing capacity and stability of the road.
